Check Plymouth County 24-Hour Releases

A Plymouth County 24 hour release list would answer who was released from the county jail today. The Plymouth County Sheriff's Department does not publish that rolling list, so a person believed released in the last 24 hours must be checked through the responsible custody system. Same-day confirmation may require the jail, the court record, an authorized agency record, or a state, federal, or immigration source. Each channel answers a different question. A missing name is not enough because release, transfer, data delay, and the wrong system can look alike.

Plymouth County 24-Hour Release List

The official PCSD website has no current-inmate name search, recent-release feed, 24-hour release view, or released-person archive. Its inmate-information page links to visiting, funding, and a visitor booklet with release and bail procedures. It does not present a table of names. There is also no official PCSD mobile app advertising an inmate locator, release list, or mugshot feed.

This absence must lead the search. There is no sheriff URL to filter, no published update cadence, no photo flag, and no stated online retention period. An unofficial directory should never be presented as sheriff data. A same-day check instead combines the facility's available confirmation with the court action and, when relevant, the next custodian.

Important: No official Plymouth County 24-hour feed exists, and silence from a roster cannot establish a community release.

Check Plymouth County Same-Day Releases

Begin with the facility and legal system rather than a broad name search. Plymouth County Correctional Facility is the local jail and house of correction. MA DOC, BOP, and ICE maintain separate records, and a move between them is not a release to the community.

  1. Gather the full committed name, date of birth, booking or commitment number if known, court, and likely facility.
  2. Call PCCF at 508-830-6200 and ask whether staff can confirm present custody or direct the inquiry. The facility is staffed around the clock, but that does not promise records service at all hours.
  3. Check the official court docket route for a same-day bail, recognizance, dismissal, time-served, sentence, probation, warrant, or transfer event.
  4. If the person may be in state prison custody, use the official MA DOC locator instructions by full name or commitment number. Massachusetts says only MA DOC participates.
  5. Use BOP for a federal sentence and ICE ODLS for immigration custody. Neither is interchangeable with a PCCF record.
  6. When lawful access applies, request the narrow agency record and ask for a written citation for withheld material.

For one known person rather than a same-day group, the Plymouth County released inmate search path explains the full record chain. It also separates a court order from the actual facility departure.

Plymouth County Release List Fields

Because PCSD publishes no 24-hour list, it publishes no online field set. The table below identifies fields that an actual release entry could contain and what each would prove. It does not claim those fields are publicly viewable. The State Auditor confirms that PCSD's internal Offender Management System includes release date and release type, while PCSD states that identifiable incarceration and release data is CORI unavailable through an ordinary public-record request.

Potential fieldMeaning and access limit
Name and identifying numberLinks the transaction to the correct person; not published in an official feed.
Booking date or IDConnects release to the earlier PCCF booking event.
Release date and timeShows when the custodian processed departure, if lawfully disclosed.
Release typeMay distinguish bail, discharge, parole, court order, or transfer.
Authority or destinationCan show whether the person went to the community or another custodian.
Booking photographMust be requested separately; the image alone is not proof of release.

Ask for the existing sheet or log entry and any segregable public portion. A person seeking their own record, counsel with authorization, or another legally authorized requester should state that authority. Do not promise that an ordinary request will yield another person's identifiable release details.

Note: The court docket proves the judge's action, while the custody record proves when PCCF completed the release transaction.

Plymouth County Release Lobby Timing

PCCF's visitor booklet gives a local operating detail that a name list cannot provide. Sentenced and parole releases commence after 9 a.m. Monday through Friday. The processing point is the Release Lobby. “After 9” is the start of a process, not an appointment or a guarantee that a person will exit at that hour.

Bail works on another timetable. It is conducted when a bail commissioner is available and averages one to two hours under the published booklet. Other paperwork, identification, unresolved holds, or a transfer can change the outcome. The timing guidance does not prove that every legal release takes place on a weekday or that no weekend action occurs.

The PCSD inmate-information page is the official gateway to those procedures.

The screen provides access to facility instructions but confirms no searchable same-day release table. Call before travel when pickup or a bail transaction is being arranged.

Plymouth County Bail Release Costs

The PCCF booklet says bail requires exact cash and a separate $40 bail-commissioner fee. The surety must be at least 18 and carry valid photo identification. PCSD recommends calling first to confirm that the person is eligible for bail and to verify the exact amount. The linked booklet is dated April 2021, so the fee and process should be confirmed before anyone travels.

A bail payment applies to a pretrial court release. It does not end the criminal case and does not defeat an unrelated warrant or hold. The court docket should reflect the bail or recognizance action. PCCF then records the actual custody transaction. If another authority takes the person, local custody ends without a community release.

Plymouth County Release Clothing Exchange

The same PCCF booklet describes one-for-one personal clothing exchanges at the Release Lobby. Its listed exchange periods are Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. and Tuesday from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. The person in custody starts the exchange, and the person bringing clothing must show valid photo identification.

Those hours concern clothing brought in before departure. They are not a published rule for property claimed after release. If personal property was not returned, call PCCF and ask about the property receipt and the policy that applies to a former detainee. Do not assume that the exchange schedule controls a later property pickup. This distinction matters when planning a same-day pickup at the Release Lobby.

Plymouth County Release Record Limits

PCSD's own public-records guide treats identifiable arrest, disposition, sentence, incarceration, rehabilitation, and release data as CORI that the department cannot disclose through the ordinary public-record process. That rule is why a 24-hour names list cannot be reconstructed by treating a routine public request as guaranteed access. A requester can still identify the record, ask for segregable public material, and request the precise exemption used for any withholding.

A booking photograph should be requested separately. Massachusetts regulation states that the photo by itself is not CORI, though a booking sheet may contain CORI and other case-specific exemptions can still apply. A photograph proves only that an image is tied to a booking. It does not prove the release date, court disposition, or destination.

For MA DOC records, use the state Records Access Officer and seek the certificate of discharge or release plus public portions of the release order. MA DOC explicitly does not handle county jail requests. A Massachusetts VINE result can be a current lead, but it is not promised as a permanent archive.

Plymouth County Release Status Checks

A same-day result should be checked against the likely next status. The source choices below prevent a transfer from being mislabeled as freedom.

Massachusetts VINE does not cover PCCF. ICE ODLS has an exact-match system and a limited recent-release window, so disappearance can have several causes. For a wider date check spanning three days, use the Plymouth County 72-Hour Release List process.

Plymouth County Released Versus Custody

A person still in custody appears, if at all, through the current system that holds them. Someone released to the community may instead be traced through the court disposition, an agency release record, or a recent participating-system result. Parole and probation mean the person has left confinement but remains subject to conditions. A transfer ends one agency's control while another continues custody.

No-result is a clue, not a conclusion. Spelling, a common name, delayed data, nonparticipation, archive limits, sealed material, another facility, or a new custodian may explain the gap. Record the exact source and time checked, then seek a second official source that addresses the same person and event.
